This is an exciting opportunity to establish and grow a new asset for Marathon in the Appalachian Basin. This person will have responsibility for the safety, environmental and financial performance of Marathon’s new Appalachian operations in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The successful candidate must assume a strong leadership role in driving safety and operational performance of company and contract personnel including the on-boarding of new company and contract personnel and contractor safety management. This individual will be expected to lead by example through safety leadership engagement and BBS participation. The Production Superintendent will also be responsible for interfacing with Regulatory and HES Environmental personnel to insure applicable regulations are understood, communicated and adhered to by operations personnel. The individual filling this role will also have the opportunity and responsibility to build a high-performing operations team comprised of company and contract personnel that will grow in accordance to Marathon’s successful growth in the basin. The Production Superintendent will direct company and contract personnel in capital project implementation, including the construction of facilities and pipelines in accordance to established reliability and integrity standards. Another important role of this position will be to network with other operators in the basin to learn and implement the best management practices of others as appropriate.
1. Promote and support a culture where safety and environmental compliance is a top priority. Initiate actions that will enhance the operation's safety and environmental performance. Lead by example with participation in Safety Leadership Engagement, BBS and vPSI programs.
2. Insure that Company production and facility operations in the assigned area are conducted in accordance with operating agreements, surface use agreements, government regulations and conservation practices.
3. Work closely with Asset Team and WWD Drilling and Completions personnel to minimize project cycle time from spud to first sales of the well construction process. Positively interact with both office and field personnel in a manner that creates an atmosphere of creativity, cooperation and continuous improvement.
4. Coach, train, appraise and reward team members. Develop team into a cohesive and efficient operating group.
5. Establish, implement and monitor team's performance commitments and metrics.
6. Review production and expense data for their area of responsibility, and direct the efforts of the team to optimize performance.
7. Evaluate, recommend, and implement area management techniques and strategies from both a field development and operational standpoint.
8. Provide 24 hour operational and emergency response coverage on an on-call rotational basis.

Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Applications, SAP, MS Project.
Certifications: None Required
Work Experience: Three or more years of production and workover supervisory experience are preferred. Demonstrated commitment to safety & environmental excellence.
