Under broad direction provides knowledge transfer of new fluid technology in the form of systems, engineering applications and speciality products (e.g., High Performance Mud Systems, procedures, operational guidelines, etc) to Halliburton Business Units both through office seminars and by working directly with the particular business units' local engineers at the drilling site. Meets with and explains the "New technology" to the customer and is available for direct supervision of the local engineers in applying the technology correcty in the field for the customer. Works closely with the business units technical supervisors before and during the rollout of the new technology in a new area. Skills typically acquired through successful completion of an undergraduate degree in science or geology, mud school and a minimum of 10 years of experience in field mud engineering which includes experience in multiple types of different mud system experience. Must be current in offshore requirements, enabling travel to any offshore rig in the world. Must understand the "mechanics" of a drilling operation from deep water riserless operations to waste haul off and pit closure. Must posses a thorough knowledge of HP Mud systems, both technical aspects and hands on ability to run the system. Requires knowledge and understanding of the proper application of Specialty Products and possess a good understanding of Halliburton's technology platforms. Job role requires spending the majority of time at the drilling site.
Depending on the candidate's skills and experience, a lower classification may be offered.
