 Job description Well Engineering Manager

·        Provide technical resources and technical support to all phases of drilling projects within the IO organization

 

·        Manage and develop the competence and capacity of Drilling Engineering support unit in cooperation with Regional team leads

 

·        Drilling and well engineering Process owner in the IO organization and responsible for establishing governing documents & policies

 

·        Organize, execute and/or provide assistance to Drilling & Completion Engineering QA/QC activities for all drilling projects (e.g. Readiness Review, Peer Assist, Peer Reviews, DWOP/CWOP, etc.)

 

·        Advise on drilling & completion technical issues in project development and business development

 

·        Ensure that appropriate work plans, budgets & resource plans are in place and followed up

 

·        Be responsible for staffing plans and recruiting of new personnel into own unit

 

·        Capture synergies between the Regions in staffing, best practice, common process, and resource utilization

 

·        Liaise with Divisions and subcontractors in technology development and R&D activities.

 

·        Contribute to technical visibility of Baker Hughes Integrated Operations both externally to the industry and within the company

 

·        Be willing and capable to prepare Drilling Programs and well AFEs for specific projects

 

Qualifications

 

·        College / University, Master’s degree or equivalent

 

·        12+ years experience in petroleum technical and drilling engineering disciplines

 

·        3+ years experience as manager of drilling & completion technical teams

 

·        Good knowledge of drilling engineering functions; experience of business processes from a major oil company or large independent

 

·        Demonstrated track record in leading people

 

·        Strong experience with multi-discipline field development activity as an operator of or service provider for oil and gas fields

 

·        Good overview and command of IT tools, good knowledge of cost & risk modeling tools

 

·        Demonstrated technical excellence in drilling engineering disciplines
